Strengthen your arms with yoga! Lifting heavy weights isn’t the only way to get toned arms. Here’s a yoga routine that will tone and strengthen your arms using your own body weight.
Cody’s Yoga Routine to Strengthen Arms:
Begin in a high plank, then slowly bend your arms and lower yourself towards the floor, keeping your elbows pinned to your sides. Challenge yourself by transitioning between high plank and four limbed staff pose a few times.
Begin in dolphin pose with your forearms and palms pressed against the floor. Walk your feet in towards your body, shifting your weight onto your arms and the top of your head. One leg at a time, bend your knee into your chest, then extend it upwards to balance in a supported headstand.
Sit cross-legged on the ground in lotus position with your palms flat against the floor, on either side of your body. Inhale as your press down with your hands, straighten your arms, and lift your buttocks off the ground.
Assume your normal bridge pose, then increase the weight on your arms by slowly extending one leg upwards. Practice alternating between legs, taking care not to over-arch your back.
