Time: 60 minutes
Spare tires are for bicycles and cars, not your waistline. You must lose about six pounds of body fat to lose one inch around your waist, so it’s time to get pedaling.
Here is a great, one-hour, interval training bike ride that will have you burning fat and building muscle with each workout. It is rather intense, so do this workout maximum three times a week.
Cody’s One Hour Cycling Workout:
Bicycling is one of the greatest exercises for those who want to lose weight because, unlike running, you do not have to carry your own weight while you are working out, allowing you to bike for a much longer period of time than you would be able to run. However, interval training on a bike works the same way as interval running: The few minutes of maximum exertion, broken up by rest periods, stresses your muscles to the point where they are growing bigger, badder, stronger, and full of fat-burning mitochondria. While interval training will burn the same amount of calories as steady pace workouts, interval training will ensure that you are also burning more calories later.
