Time: 10 minutes
Do you have ten minutes for a quick cardio workout? In a perfect world we would all have ample time to go exercise for an hour, take a long shower, and maybe even get a back massage… but alas, we do not live in a perfect world. We live in a busy, hectic, demanding world where free time is scarce and working out is often neglected.
However, if you are serious about losing weight (which, I am assuming you are) then I have three different cardio workouts for you, each of which only take ten minutes. So on those days where you know you don’t have an hour to spare for the gym, that’s ok! Just do one of these ten-minute cardio workouts instead.
Ten Minutes of Jump Rope
This is a great workout to do before your morning shower, or right after you finish work. Take two minutes to stretch in the beginning. Jump rope for the next six minutes, trying not to stop during this time. Finish with another two minutes of stretching.
Ten Minutes of Stairs
This workout is great for your lunch hour, or when you arrive home from work. Take two minutes to stretch, then for the next six minutes, run up and down a flight of stairs. Running up the stairs the entire six minutes would be ideal, but if your stairs end after two flights, you will have to make do with going up and down them. After your stair-run, take another two minutes to stretch and cool-down.
Ten Minutes of Hills
The hill workout can be done either by jogging or bicycling. Simply pick a steep hill, stretch for two minutes at the bottom, then run or bike up the hill. Try and reach the top without stopping, then walk slowly back down. Go up the hill as many times as you can within six minutes, then walk and stretch to cool-down for the last two minutes.
