Walking is a great exercise to help you focus and destress, and there is nothing more relaxing than going for a long walk to reflect on life, love, and whatever else is on your mind. Here is a walking workout that will help you build endurance so you can comfortably take those long, relaxing walks without feeling winded.
Cody’s Walk to Build Endurance and Increase Distance:
- Warm up: Begin with 5-10 minutes of stretching, and easy paced walking
- Brisk walk: Walk at a pace that you can maintain for about 30 minutes. If you are gasping for air and have to stop to rest, then your pace is too fast. The point of this workout is to walk for 30 minutes without stopping.
- If you get cramps: Stop and stretch. Side cramps can be alleviated by extending your arms above your head and leaning from side to side.
- Cool down: End with 5-10 minutes of easy paced walking and stretching.
